Round 2 of the WA State Junior Surfing Titles was held over the weekend of the 17th and 18th of April.
The Saturday saw solid 4 foot offshore conditions at Gas Bay south of Margaret River and Carly performed strongly to win her heat , pushing last year’s state champion into second place.
Sunday’s competition was moved to Big Rock, just north of Margaret Rive. The waves were excellent quality and again in the 4 foot range. Carly worked hard throughout the final , but was unable to repeat her performance of the previous day and finished up coming third .
This now means, with two of the three state rounds completed, that Carly has achieved two third placings, giving her automatic selection in the under 18 girls division at the National Junior Surfing Titles to be held at Phillip Island in Victoria in December of this year.
The next events will be Round Three of the State Titles in July and the State Schools Surfing Titles in August 2010.
